Your visit, insurance, and referrals
Medically reviewed by Ashraf Koraym, MD
Your first visit
Call to schedule. No referral is needed. You'll meet Dr. Koraym to review your symptoms and history, have a painless leg ultrasound, and leave with a plan, often starting with compression therapy. Bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and a list of your medications.
Insurance
We accept all insurance plans. Vein treatment for pain, swelling, and skin changes is usually considered medically necessary. Many plans require a period of compression therapy and prior approval first. Our staff will check your benefits.
Questions
Do I need a referral?
No. You can call us directly.
Is my insurance accepted?
We accept all insurance plans.
Are varicose veins just cosmetic?
Enlarged, twisted veins are often a visible sign of reflux underneath. An ultrasound shows whether a deeper vein is leaking; treating it usually relieves the varicose veins too. Vein treatment for pain, swelling, and skin changes is usually considered medically necessary.
Does treatment hurt?
ClosureFast uses local anesthesia only and causes less bruising than traditional surgery. VenaSeal uses no heat and causes minimal discomfort.
How soon can I go back to work?
Most patients go home the same day and return to normal activities quickly. VenaSeal allows an immediate return to normal activities. Varithena has minimal downtime.
Is my swelling from my heart or my veins?
That's exactly what Dr. Koraym can help sort out. As a cardiologist, he can evaluate both.
For referring physicians
We welcome referrals and send findings and a treatment plan back promptly. Consider referral for unexplained leg swelling, symptomatic varicose veins, skin changes or ulcers, suspected PAD, and carotid or aortic screening.
